Correct Answer - Option 2 : 125 litres

Given:

Pipe A can fill the tank = 20 minutes

Pipe B can fill the tank = 25 minutes

A leakage can empty the tank  = 5 litres/minute

Concept:

Fraction of work done = (No. of work done)/(Total no. of days required to complete the work)

Calculation:

Let, the capacity of the tank = x litres.

According to the question,

⇒ x × (20/20) + x × (20/25) – 5 × 20 = x

⇒ x + 4x/5 – 100 = x

⇒ 4x/5 = 100

⇒ x = 125

∴ Capacity of the tank = 125 litres.
