Correct Answer - Option 1 : 20 coins

Given:

The ratio of 10 paisa, 25 paisa and 50 paisa coins is 4 : 2 : 5

Calculation:

Let, 10 paisa coins = 4x

25 paisa coins = 2x

50 paisa coins = 5x

10 paisa = 1/10 rupee

25 paisa = 1/4 rupee

50 paisa = 1/2 rupee

Accordingly,

(4 ×1/10 + 2 × 1/4 + 5 ×1/2)x=34

⇒ (2/5 + 1/2 + 5/2)x = 34

⇒ (4 + 5 + 25)x/10 = 34

⇒ (17/5)x = 34

⇒ x = (34 × 5)/17

⇒ x = 10

⇒ 25 p coins = 2 × 10 = 20

∴ The required number of 25 paisa coins in the bag is 20
