Correct Answer - Option 1 : A-3, B-4, C-1, D-2

Explanation

Diamond Drilling

  • It is a form of core drilling which uses a rotary drill with a diamond drill bit attached in order to create precisely measured holes. As diamond is the hardest naturally occurring material in the world, it is ideal for creating openings in a range of materials including concrete, metal and glass.
  • Although diamond drills are primarily used on concrete, it is a versatile tool that can be deployed on virtually any material including glass, metal, stone (Rock formation), asphalt, and tile.

Open-pit excavation

  • Exploration up to a shallow depth below ground level.

Uncased wash boring

  • It is a popular method due to the use of limited equipment. The advantage of this is the use of inexpensive and easily portable handling and drilling equipment. Here first an open hole is formed on the ground so that the soil sampling or rock drilling operation can be done below the hole. The hole is advanced by chopping and twisting the action of the light bit.
  •  It gives completely disturbed sample and is not suitable for very soft soil, fine to medium grained cohesionless soil and in cemented soil.
