Correct Answer - Option 2 : 23

Concept

Remainder theorem: It states that when a polynomial P(x) is divided by (x - a), then the remainder is given by P(a), which is the value of the polynomial at x = a.

For example: When P(x) is divide by (x - 2) remainder will be the value of the polynomial at x = 2, i.e., P(2)

Calculation

Let P(x) = x22 + 22

When P(x) is divided by (x + 1) the remainder will be P(-1)

⇒ P(-1) = (-1)22 + 22 = 23

∴ The remainder of the given expression is 23
