Given below are two quantities named A and B. Based on the given information, you have to determine the relationship between the two quantities. You should use the given data and your knowledge of Mathematics to choose between the possible answers.

Quantity A: Vessel A of capacity 18 liters has 16.66% milk and vessel B of capacity 24 liters has 37.5% milk. The liquid of A and B is poured into a vessel C of capacity 50 liters and the remaining part is filled with milk. Find the concentration of milk in vessel C.

Quantity B: 45%

1. Quantity A > Quantity B
2. Quantity A < Quantity B
3. Quantity A ≥ Quantity B
4. Quantity A ≤ Quantity B
5. Quantity A = Quantity B or No relation

Correct Answer - Option 2 : Quantity A < Quantity B

GIVEN:

A's capacity = 18 l

A's milk concentration = 16.66%

B's capacity = 24 l

B's milk concentration = 37.5%

C's capacity = 50 l

EXPLANATION:

Milk in A = 1/6 × 18 = 3 l

Milk in B = 3/8 × 24 = 9 l

Remaining part of C = 50 -(18 + 24) = 8 l

Total milk = 3 + 9 + 8 = 20 l

Milk concentration = 20/50 × 100 = 40%

∴ Quantity A < Quantity B
