Correct Answer - Option 4 : 50/3%

Given∶

Selling Price of each puppy = Rs. 5000

Labrador is sold at a gain of 25%

Formula Used∶

Loss = C.P. - S.P.

C.P. = (100 × S.P.)/ (100 + Gain%)

Loss% = (Loss/C.P.) × 100

Calculation∶

S.P. of each dog is Rs. 5000

Total S.P. = Rs. 10,000

As, there is no profit or no loss in the deal, So

Total C.P. = Total S.P. = Rs. 10,000

Now, S.P. of 1st puppy = Rs. 5000

then, C.P. of 1st puppy = (100 × 5000)/125) = Rs. 4000

C.P. of 2nd puppy = Total C.P. - C.P. of 1st puppy = 10,000 - 4000 = Rs. 6000

So, Loss% = (Loss/C.P.) × 100

⇒ [(6000 - 5000)/6000] × 100

⇒ 100/6

⇒ 50/3%

∴ The Pug is sold out at a loss of 50/3%.
