Directions: Read the instructions carefully and answer the question below.

There are eight people – A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H. They have different weights. The weight of the second heaviest person is 50 kg and the weight of the second lightest person is 26 kg. H is the second lightest person. G is the lightest person and his weight is a multiple of 11 and greater than 15. The sum of the weights of C, G, and H is 90 kg. The sum of the weights of A and B is 75 kg and B is lighter than A and F. The weights of A and F are odd multiples of 5. The difference between the weights of E and B is 20 kg. The sum of the weights of C and D is 102 kg.

Correct Answer - Option 2 : 30 kg

Eight people – A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H.

1) The weight of the second heaviest person is 50 kg and the weight of the second lightest person is 26 kg.

2) H is the second lightest person.

3) G is the lightest person and his weight is a multiple of 11 and greater than 15.

⇒ 15 < G < 26 and the age of G is a multiple of 11.

⇒ G = 22

Weight (Highest to lowest) Person

50

26 H
22 G

4) The sum of the weights of C, G, and H is 90 kg.

C + G + H = 90 kg.

⇒ C + 22 + 26 = 90

⇒ C = 42 kg

5) The sum of the weights of C and D is 102 kg.

⇒ C + D = 102 kg

⇒ D = 60 kg

Weight (Highest to lowest) Person
60 D
50

26 H
22 G

6) B is lighter than A and F.

7) The weights of A and F are odd multiples of 5.

Thus, B < A/F = 35/45 and B < C.

The only possible person with a weight of 50 kg is E.

Weight (Highest to lowest) Person
60 D
50 E
45 A/F
42 C
35 A/F
  B
26 H
22 G

8) The difference between the weights of E and B is 20 kg.

⇒ E - B = 20 kg

⇒ B = 30 kg

9) The sum of the weights of A and B is 75 kg.

⇒ A = 45 kg and F = 35 kg

Weight (Highest to lowest) Person
60 D
50 E
45 A
42 C
35 F
30 B
26 H
22 G

Hence, the weight of B is 30 kg.
