    1. Avanaddha Vadya (membranophones or percussion instruments)
    2. Ghan Vadya (idiophones or solid instruments)
    3. Sushir Vadya (aerophones or wind instruments)
    4. Tat Vadya (chordophones or stringed instruments)

  • The Indian Classical Musical system has two major traditions - Hindustani and Carnatic.
