Calculation:

Let the present age of Sonu and Monu be 5x and 6x.

Sonu age after 7 years = 5x + 7

Monu age after 7 years = 6x + 7

According to the question,

(5x + 7)/(6x + 7) = 6/7

⇒ 7(5x + 7) = 6(6x + 7)

⇒ 35x + 49 = 36x + 42

⇒ x = 7

So, present age of Sonu = 7 × 5 = 35 years

∴ The present age of Sonu is 35 years.
