The speed of A is 62.5% of B's speed, they move for 12 hours and 10 hours respectively. If A moves 100 km less than B. Find the total distance covered by A and B.

Correct Answer - Option 4 : 700 km

Given:

A's speed = 62.5% of B's speed

A's time = 12 hours

B's time = 10 hours

A moves 100 km less than B

Formula used:

Speed = distance/time

Calculation:

62.5% = 5/8

Speed (A : B) = 5 : 8

Time (A :B) = 12 : 10 = 6 : 5

∴ Distance (A : B) = 5 × 6 : 8 × 5 = 3 : 4

A.T.Q

4 - 3 = 1 ratio = 100 km

Total distance = 7 ratio = 700 km

∴ The distance is 700 km.
