Given:

Each girl pays INR 270.

Average expenditure of all is INR 250

Concept used:

Average × number + average × number + ….. = average of all × total number

Calculation:

Let the amount spent by each boy = x

∴Total amount spent by all boys = x × 5

And, amount spent by each girl = INR 270

Hence, 270 × 4 + x × 5 = 250 × 9

⇒1080 + 5x = 2250

⇒5x = 1170

⇒ x = 234

Thus, amount spent by each boy = INR 234
