Correct Answer - Option 1 : 8

Given:

Alpha brought 6 sandwiches.

Beta brought 4 sandwiches.

While Gamma brought only of Rs. 10

Formula Used

Simple concept of ratios

Calculation

Number of sandwiches = 10

So, the amount eaten by each of the three is 10/3 sandwiches

Since Gamma paid Rs. 10 for 10/3 sandwiches,

Price for 1 sandwich = 10 × 3/10 = Rs. 3

Alpha should get back from Gamma what Alpha did not eat i.e. 6 - 10/3 = (18 - 10)/3 = 8/3 of sandwich

Alpha should get = (8/3) × 3 = Rs. 8

∴ Alpha should get Rs. 8.
