  • Olympic motto comprises of three Latin word-
    • Citius (Faster) 
    • Altius (Higher)
    • Fortius (Stronger)
  • These words were first used by Dominican Priest Henri Didon.
  • He used it at the opening ceremony of school sports days. 
  • Pierre de Coubertin was also present at that ceremony. Later he prosed this as the Olympic motto.

  • Since Pierre de Coubertin revived the games, he is also known as the Father of Modern Olympic Games.
    • He was the second President and also the founder of the International Olympic Committee.
