Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs. 1100

Given:

Sum of their salaries = 3300

Ratio of their savings = 5 : 4 : 9

They spend 50%, 80% and 70% of their incomes.

Formula  Used:

Simple Concept of Ratios.

Calculation:

Let their savings be Rs. 5a, Rs.4a and Rs.9a

Also, x + y + z = 3300      ----(1)

According to question,

40x/100 = 5a

⇒ x = 5a × 100/40 = 10a

20y/100 = 4a

⇒ y = 4a × 100/20 = 20a

30z/100 = 9a

⇒ z = 9a × 100/30 = 30a

Now, put the values of x, y and z in eq.(1)

10a + 20a + 30a = 3300

⇒ 60a = 3300

⇒ a = 55

X's income = 10a × 55 = Rs. 550

y's income = 20a = 20 × 55 = Rs. 1100

z's income = 30a = 30 × 55 = Rs. 1650

So, z's earn more by Rs. (1650 - 550) = Rs. 1100

∴ Z earn Rs.1100 more than X.
