Correct Answer - Option 4 : None of these

Given:

He scored an aggregate of 80% marks in 5 subjects in the ratio 12 : 11 : 10 : 9 : 8.

50% are the passing marks of the maximum marks.

Formula Used:

Simple Concept of Ratio.

Calculation:

Let the maximum marks of each subject be 100.

passing marks = 50% of 100 = 50

So, total marks in five subjects = 500

Student got 80% aggregate marks i.e. 80% of 500 = 400

Given ratio 12 : 11 : 10 : 9 : 8.

Let the marks in 5 subjects be 12x, 11x, 10x, 9x and 8x

So, 12x + 11x + 10 x + 9x + 8x = 400

⇒ 50x = 400

⇒ x = 8

Marks in subject Maths = 12x = 12 × 8 = 96

Marks in subject Science = 11x = 11 × 8 = 88

Marks in subject Social science = 10x = 10 × 8 = 80

Marks in subject English = 9x = 9 × 8 = 72

Marks in subject Hindi = 8x = 8 × 8 = 64

His marks in all subjects are more than passing marks.

∴ He passed in all subjects.
