Correct Answer - Option 2 : 3 ∶ 5

Given

Ratio of water and milk in tank A = 7 ∶ 11

Ratio of water and milk in tank B = 13 ∶ 23

Formula used

Simple Concept of Ratios

a ∶ b can be written as ax and bx where x is a positive integer.

Calculation

Ratio of water and milk in tank A = 7 ∶ 11

Water = 7/18

Milk = 11/18

Ratio of water and milk in tank B = 13 ∶ 23

Water = 13/36

Milk = 23/36

After mixing,

Water = 7/18 + 13/36 = 27/36

Milk = 11/18 + 23/36 = 45/36

So, Ratio of water to milk in tank C = 27 : 45 = 3 : 5

∴ The resultant ratio of water and milk is 3 ∶ 5.
