Correct Answer - Option 2 : 240 km

Given:

Arun travels for 7 hours.

The speed of the first hour is 40 km/hr and the rest hour is 30 km/hr

Formula used:

Time = Distance/Speed

Calculation:

Let the total distance travelled by Arun be '2D'

∴ \( {D \ \over 30} + {D \ \over 40} = 7\)

⇒ \( {4D + 3D \ \over 120} = 7\)

⇒ \( {7D \ \over 120} = 7\)

⇒ 7D = 840

⇒ D = 120 km

∴ Total distance = 2D = 240 km

∴ The total distance travelled by Arun is 240 km.
