Best answer
Correct Answer - Option 2 : 16.66%

Given:

15 liters of a mixture contains alcohol and water in the ratio of 1 : 4.

Calculation:

Let the quantity of alcohol and water in the mixture initially be x and 4x respectively.

So, x + 4x = 15 litres

Or, x = 3 litres

So, the mixture contains 3 liter alcohol and 12 liter water.

Amount of water in the final mixture = 12 + 3 = 15 litre

Percetnage of alcohol in the final mixture = 3/(15 + 3) × 100 = 1/6 × 100

∴ Percentage od alcohol = 16.66%
