Correct Answer - Option 2 : 10

The minute arm of a clock is 10 cm long.

As a clock makes a complete angle i.e., an angle of 360\(°\), the path covered by the minute arm is circular.

So, length of 1 rotation = Circumference of a circle = \( 2πr\)

 = (2 × 22/7 × 10)cm (As, minute arm of a clock is 10 cm long)

= 440/7 cm

So, 440/7 cm of length is covered by the minute arm in one rotation i.e., in 60 minutes.

440/ 7 cm = 60 minutes

⇒ 1 cm = 60/440 × 7 minutes

⇒ 10 cm = 60/440 × 7 × 10 minutes

= 4200/440 minutes

= 9.55 minutes

= 10 minutes (approx)

Therefore, nearly10 minutes will be taken by the tip of the arm to travel a length of 10 cm.

Hence, ‘10’ is the correct answer.
