Correct Answer - Option 2 : 7/13

Calculation:

Let assume that numerator = x

The denominator = y

So, fraction = x/y

Case: 1

(x + 1)/(y + 1) = 4/7

By cross multiplication

⇒ 7x - 4y = -3        ......(1)

Case: 2

(x - 1)/(y - 1) = 1/2

By cross multiplication

⇒ 2x - y = 1        .....(2)

From equation (1) and equation (2)

x = 7

y = 13

∴ Fraction is = 7/13

The correct option is 2 i.e. 7/13.
