Correct Answer - Option 1 : 10%

Given:

A housewife saved Rs. 5.50 in buying an item on sale. If she spent Rs. 50 for the item

Calculation

 Actual price = Rs. (50 + 5.50) = Rs. 55.50.

Saving = 5.50

 Percentage Saving = [(5.50/55.50) × 100]

= 550/5550 × 100

= 9.90%

Hence, Saving = 9.90%
