Correct Answer - Option 2 : 44, 22

Calculation:

Let the present age of the son be x years then the present age of the father be 2x

20 years back,

The age of the father = 2x – 20 years

The age of the son = x – 20 years

Now, A/Q

2x – 20 = 12(x – 20)

⇒ 2x – 20 = 12x – 240

⇒ 12x – 2x = 240 – 20

⇒ 10x = 220

⇒ x = 22

∴ The age of the son and the father are 22 years and 44 years respectively
