Given:

Discount, (D1) = 20% and D2 = 15%

Formula used:

Equivalent discount, D = D1 + D2 – (D1D2)/100

Calculation:

D = D1 + D2 – (D1D2)/100

⇒ 20 + 15 – (20 × 15)/100

⇒ 35 – 3

⇒ 32

∴ The equivalent discount is 32%
