Given:

A fraction when added to 5/6 gives 7

Calculation:

Let the fraction be ‘a’

According to the question,

⇒ a + 5/6 = 7

⇒ a = 7 – 5/6

⇒ a = [6(7) – 5]/6

⇒ a = 37/6

∴ The fraction is 37/6.
