Correct Answer - Option 1 : 350

Given:

Cut-off Percentage = 40%

Marks scored by Ravi = 120

Marks by which the cut-off was missed = 20

Calculation:

Let the Maximum marks of the exam be ‘a’

According to the question,

⇒ Cut-off marks = 120 + 20

⇒ Cut-off marks = 140

⇒ 40% of a = 140

⇒ 40/100 × a = 140

⇒ a = 140 × 100/40

⇒ a = 350

Maximum marks of the exam was 350
