Correct Answer - Option 4 : 2000

Given:

Percentage of student passed in Science, S = 43%

Percentage of student passed in Hindi, H = 37%

Percentage of student passed in Hindi and science both = 15%

Number of student failed = 700

Concept used:

Using percentage here.

Calculation:

Let the total student be x.

Here total student in percentage form is 100%.

Total student in science and hindi = 43 + 37 = 80%

So, Actually total student in science and hindi = 80% – 15% = 65%

Percentage of student failed = Total student – Passed student

⇒ The required student = 100% – 65%

⇒ 35%

So, 35% of x = 700

⇒ x = (700 × 100)/35

⇒ x = 2000

∴ Total student is 2000.
