According to given equations

I. x2 – 33x + 216 = 0 

⇒ x2 – 24x – 9x + 216 = 0

⇒ x(x – 24) – 9(x – 24) = 0

⇒ (x – 24) (x – 9) = 0

⇒ x = 24, 9

II. y2 – 37y + 312 = 0

⇒ y2 – 24y – 13y + 312 = 0

⇒ y(y –  24) – 13(y – 24) = 0

⇒ (y –  24) (y – 13) = 0

⇒ y = 13, 24
