Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs. 50

Given

An offer, “Buy 6 get 3 free”

Additional discount 10%, and earns profit of 20 % on the whole transaction.

Formula Used

Cost Price = Selling Price × 100 / (100 + gain%)

Selling Price = Marked price – Discount

Discount % = (Discount / Marked Price) × 100

Calculation

Given marked price of each shirt be 100

Discount = 10% of M.P

⇒ (10 / 100) × 100

⇒ 10

S.P of 1 shirt = 100 – 10 = 90

S.P of 6 shirts = 90 × 6 = 540

Total cost price of 9 shirts = Selling Price × 100 / (100 + gain%)

⇒ (540 × 100) / 120

⇒ Rs. 450

Cost price of 1 shirt = Rs. 450 / 9 = Rs. 50

∴ The cost price of each shirt is Rs. 50.
