Correct Answer - Option 3 : 8%

Given:

A man spends 45% of his income on food, 35% on children's education and 60% of the remaining on house rent

Calculation:

Let the total income be 100x.

Spend on food = 100x × 45/100 = 45x

Spend on children's education = 100 × 35/100 = 35x

Total speed amount = 45x + 35x = 80x

Remaining amount = 100x – 80x = 20x

Spend on house rent = 20x × 60/100 = 12x

Saving = 20x – 12x = 8x

Saving % = (8x/100x) × 100 = 8%

∴ The required saving % is 8%
