Correct Answer - Option 1 : 45

Given:

Total number of boys in class X(A) = 32

Average marks of the boys in class X(A) = 60

Total number of boys in class X(B) = 40

Average marks of the boys in class X(B) = 33

Formula Used:

Average marks of all the boys in the class = Total marks of the all the boys in the class/Number of boys in the class

Calculation:

Total marks of Class X(A) = 32 × 60 = 1920

Total marks of Class X(B) = 33 × 40 = 1320

Total of the marks of both the classes = 1920 + 1320 = 3240

Total number of boys in both the classes = 32 + 40 = 72

Required Average = 3240/72 = 45

∴ The required average is 45.
