Correct Answer - Option 4 : 36

Given

x + 3y = 33

2y = 3y + 1

Concept

Solve the equations by separating the like and unlike terms.

Calculations

2y = 3y + 1

2y - 3y = 1

y = - 1

Put y = - 1, in equation x + 3y = 33

x + 3(- 1) = 33

x - 3 = 33

x = 36
