Correct Answer - Option 2 : 1260

Given:

Diameter of wheel = 40 cm = 0.4 m

Radius of wheel = 0.2 m

Total distance traveled = 1.584 km = 1584 m

Concept:

The distance traveled in one revolution will be equal to the circumference of the wheel.

Formula used:

Circumference of circle = 2 × (22/7) × radius

Calculation:

Distance traveled by the wheel in 1 revolution = 2 × (22/7) × 0.2 m

∵ Number of revolutions × Distance traveled in 1 revolution = total distance travelled

⇒ Number of revolutions ×  2 × (22/7) × 0.2 m = 1584 m

⇒ Number of revolutions = (1584 × 7)/2 × 22 × 0.2

⇒ Number of revolutions = 1260

∴ 1260
