Correct Answer - Option 3 : 8

Given:

When a shopkeeper sold 12 articles for Rs 1800 he incurred a loss of 10%.

Formula Used:

{Number of items×(1 +/– Profit% or Loss%)}/(Cost price/Selling price) = Constant

Calculation:

Let the number of articles he should sell be x. Now apply the above-given formula

⇒ {12×(1 – 10%)}/1800 = {x × (1 + 20%)}/1600

⇒ (12×90%)/1800 = (x × 120%)/1600

⇒ x = 8 articles

∴ The number of articles he should sell are 8
