Correct Answer - Option 3 : Rs. 180

Given:

Total amount = Rs. 720

X + Y = 1/2 of the total amount

Y + Z = 3/4 of the total amount

Calculation:

X + Y = 1/2 of 720 = 360      ---- (1)

Y + Z = 3/4 of 720 = 540      ---- (2)

Adding (1) and (2) we'll get

X + 2Y + Z = 360 + 540 = 900

And, X + Y + Z = 720

⇒ Y + 720 = 900

⇒ Y = 900 - 720 = 180

∴ Y gets Rs. 180
