Directions: Below question is followed by two statements labelled I and II. Decide if these statements are sufficient to conclusively answer the question. Choose the appropriate answer from the options given below:

I) Ram takes double time of Suhani to complete (1/3) part of the work.

II) Suhani completes the work in 5 days.

Find the total time taken by Ram and Suhani working together to complete the work.

1.

Statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question.

2.

Statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question.

3.

Statement I and Statement II together are sufficient, but neither of the two alone is sufficient to answer the question.

Correct Answer - Option 3 :

Statement I and Statement II together are sufficient, but neither of the two alone is sufficient to answer the question.

Concept used:

Efficiency is inversely proportional to time.

Statement (I):

If Suhani take 'x' days to complete the work

Then Ram take '2x' days to complete (1/3) part of the work.

So, Ram take total '6x' days.

The statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question

Statement (II):

Suhani take 5 days to complete the work.

Then Ram take 30 days to complete the work.

So, we can calculate total days taken by  together.

Statement II alone is not sufficient.

∴ Statement I and Statement II together are sufficient, but neither of the two alone is sufficient to answer the question.
