Concept:

The relation between Duty, Delta and Base period are as follows:

\({\rm{\Delta }} = \frac{{864B}}{D}\;cm\)

\(\rm{}\Delta = \frac{{Base\;Period\; \times Depth\;of\;Watering}}{{Interval\;of\;Watering}}\)

Δ → depth of water required (cm)

D → Duty (hectares per cumec)

B → Base period (days)

Calculations:

\({D} = \frac{{864B}}{\Delta}\;=\frac{{864\times95}}{96}=855\;hectares/cumec\)
