Correct Answer - Option 1 : 66

Given:

Initial rate of water flow = 11ml/sec

Reduction in efficiency = 9(1/11)%

= 1/11

Calculation:

New rate of water flow = 11 – (1/11) × 11

= 11 – 1

= 10ml/sec

Let the initial time taken to fill the tank = a

∴ Initial Rate of flow × a = New rate of flow × (a + 600 sec)

⇒ 11a = 10a + 6000

⇒ 11a – 10a = 6000 sec

⇒ a = 6000 sec

∴ Capacity of the tank = Rate of water flow × total time taken to fill the tank

= 11 ml/sec × 6000 sec

= 66000ml

= 66000/1000 liter

= 66 liter
