Given:

Average number of cars run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday = 900

Average number of cars runs on Monday and Tuesday = 500

Formula used:

Average = Sum of all observation/Number of observation

Calculation:

Average numbers of cars run on a (Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday)/3 = 900

Cars run on road on Monday + Tuesday + Wednesday = 2700   ….(1)

Average number of cars run on (Monday + Tuesday )/2 = 500

Cars run on road on Monday  + Tuesday = 1000    ….(2)

From (1) and (2)

1000 + Wednesday = 2700

⇒Wednesday = 1700

So, number of cars runs on Wednesday is 1700
