Correct Answer - Option 4 : 32000

Given:

Total Sum = Rs. 52000

Formula used:

Simple Interest = (P × R × T)/100

Calculation:

Let the sum lent at 5% be 'x'.

So, the sum lent at 4% = Rs. 52000 – x

Simple Interest = (P × R × T)/100

According to the question,

((x × 5 × 1)/100) + (((52000 – x) × 4 × 1)/100) = 2400

⇒ (x/20) + ((52000 – x)/25) = 2400

⇒ (5x + 208000 – 4x)/100 = 2400

⇒ x + 208000 = 240000

⇒ x = 32000

∴ The sum lent at 5% is Rs. 32000.
