Correct Answer - Option 1 : 2000

Given:

A sum of money is to be distributed among A, B, C, D in the proportion of 7: 2: 8: 3.

C gets Rs. 5000 more than D

Calculation

Let the shares of A, B, C, and D be Rs. 7x, Rs. 2x, Rs. 8x and Rs. 3x

Then, 8x - 3x = 5000

 x = 1000

 Therefore, B's share = Rs. 2x = Rs. (2 x 1000) = Rs. 2000

∴ B's share is Rs. 2000
