Correct Answer - Option 4 : 170

Given:

The ratio of two numbers is 12: 5. If each number is increases by 20 then their ratio becomes 24: 12

Calculation

Let number is 12x and 5x

According to question,

(12x + 20) ÷ (5x + 20) = 24 ÷ 12

144x + 240 = 120x + 480

24 x = 240

X = 10

Then number 12 × 10 = 120 and 5 × 10 = 50

Sum of the number = 120 + 50 = 170

Hence, sum of the number = 170
