Correct Answer - Option 3 : 38

Given:

The average of 6 observations = 24

Five of its observations = 16, 22, 18, 26, 24

Concept used:

Average = (Sum of observations)/(Number of observations)

Calculations:

The total of 6 observations = 24 × 6 = 144

Total of 5 observations = 16 + 22 + 18 + 26 + 24 = 106

The sixth observation = 144 – 106 = 38

∴ The sixth observation is 38.
