Correct Answer - Option 3 : Both 1 & 2.

The correct answer is Both 1 & 2.

  • Sodium zincate and hydrogen gas are formed when zinc reacts with sodium hydroxide.
  • The following reaction takes place when zinc reacts with sodium hydroxide:
    •  Zn + 2NaOH → Na2Zn02 (Sodium Zincate) + H2

  • Zinc is a transition metal which shows mild reactivity.
  • In the salt produced during the reaction between a base and a metal, the metal is present as a part of the negative ion.
  • The zinc metal is present as a part of the negative ion, zincate ion (ZnO22-) in the sodium zincate salt (Na2ZnO2).
