Correct Answer - Option 2 : 1 : 1

Given:

The cheap cashew nuts costs = Rs. 1040 per kg

the Dear cashew nuts costs = Rs. 1200 per kg

the cost of new mixture = Rs. 1120 kg

Formula Used:

cheap object/dear object = (D - M)/(M - C)

C = cheap object

D = dear object

M = mixture

Calculation:

substituting the values in formula

cheap variety/dear variety = (1200 - 1120)/(1120 - 1040) ⇒ 80/80

cheap variety/dear variety = 80/80 ⇒ 1/1

∴ The ratio of mixing cheaper and dearer varieties of cashew nuts is 1 : 1 to get  the worth of Rs. 1120 per kg.
