Correct Answer - Option 1 : 3 ∶ 4

Given:

(2x + 3y) ∶ (3x + 5y) = 18 ∶ 29

Calculations:

2x + 3y/3x + 5y = 18/29

⇒ 29(2x + 3y) = 18(3x + 5y)

⇒ 58x + 87y = 54x + 90y

⇒ 58x - 54x = 90y - 87y

⇒ 4x = 3y

⇒ x/y = 3/4

∴  x ∶ y is 3 ∶ 4
