Correct Answer - Option 4 : Knowledge, Understanding, Application and Evaluation

According to Locke-“Mathematics is a way to settle in the mind of children a habit of reasoning.

Blooms Taxonomy: This model is proposed in 1956 and named after Benjamin Bloom, an educational psychologist at the University of Chicago. This is actually a hierarchy model to classify the teaching and instructional objectives into a specific level of complexity

According to Bloom's taxonomy of knowledge, there are three major domains of learning:

  • Cognitive domain
  • Affective domain
  • Psychomotor domain

Bloom's Taxonomy of cognitive skills:

  • Knowledge: Identifying the steps on how to solve, factor, evaluate, etc.
  • Understanding: describe what we are looking for and why – zeros, vertex, intersection, etc.
  • Application: Solve an equation or draw a graph
  • Analyze: Compare, contrast and classify
  • Evaluation: Explain and defend your solution

Thus, it is concluded that Knowledge, Understanding, Application, and Evaluation is the correct order of teaching Mathematics.
