Correct Answer - Option 2 : Rs. 7187.5

Given:

Kunal = Rs. 87500 invested

Khyati = Rs. 131,250 invested

Difference between profits = Rs. 2500

Formula used:

Profit earned in Rs. = Profit earned in % × investment

Earnings – Expenditure = Profit earned

Calculation:

Ratio of their investments = 87500 : 131250

⇒ Ratio of their investments = 1 : 1.5

⇒ Ratio of their investments = 2 : 3

Now 1 unit = Rs. 2500 (∵ 3 – 2 = 1 unit)

Total profit = 2500 × 5 = 12500

25% of profit is to be divided equally hence, 75% would be according to capital invested

⇒ 75% of profit = 12500 × 75/100 = 9375

⇒ 25% of profit = 12500 × 25/100 = 3125

⇒ Profit Share of khyati = (9375 × 3/5 ) + (3125/2)

⇒ Total profit earned by Khyati = Rs. 7187.5
