  • Sikander Lodhi ruled from year 1489-1517. 
  • He swore the title Sikandar Shah and ascended the throne
  • Sikandar Lodi became the next ruler of the Lodi dynasty after the death of his father Bahlul Lodi in July 1489.
  • Work on music names “Lahjati-Sikandar Shahi” was created during his reign.
  • Lodi dynasty (1451–1526) was the last ruling family of the Delhi sultanate of India. The dynasty was of Afghan origin.
  • Lodi dynasty is the second and most successful dynasty of the Delhi sultanate.

 

  • Sikandar’s eldest sonIbrahim Lodhi (reigned 1517–26), attempted to enhance the royal authority.
  • Ibrahim harshness built up discontent, however, which led the governor of the PunjabDawlat Khan Lodi, to invite the Mughal ruler of Kabul, Babur, to invade India.
  • In  Panipat (April 21, 1526) war was fought between Ibrahim and Babur.
  • Ibrahim was killed, and whereupon the loose aristocratic confederacy of the Lodis dissolved.

Bahlul Lodi 1451 -1489 A.D.

Bahlul Lodi was the founder of the Lodi Dynasty.

Mewat, Sakit, Gwalior, etc were conquered by him. He died in 1489.

Ibrahim Lodhi 1517-1526 A.D.

In the 1st battle of Panipat in the year 1526 A.D, Ibrahim Lodi faced defeat at the hands of Babur.

Ibrahim Lodi was stubborn and intolerant which were not good qualities in a ruler.

He was the last ruler of the Lodhi dynasty and the Delhi Sultanate.

Mubarak Shah 1421 - 1434 AD

He was the ruler of the Sayyid dynasty and the son of Khizr Khan (founder of the Sayyid dynasty).

He was a weak ruler. He was succeeded by Muhammad Shah.
