Given:

If the numerator of a fraction be increased by 20% and denominator decreased by 10%. The value of the fraction becomes 24/5.

Concept used:

Percentage and Ratio 

Calculation:

Let the fraction be in the form of p/q

⇒ \(\frac{{p\ \times\ 120}}{{q\ \times\ 90}} = \frac{{24}}{5}\)

⇒ \(\frac{p}{q} = \frac{{24}}{5} \times \frac{9}{{12}}\)

⇒ \(\frac{p}{q} = \frac{{18}}{5}\)
