Correct Answer - Option 1 : 0.05

Given:

A firm of electronic device make both laptop and mobiles. Its average is 8% of the sales.

Its profit in laptop average 10% of the sales and mobiles comprise 40% of the out put.

Calculation:

Let the total sales be Rs. 100

Mobiles comprise 40% of the out put

Rs. 40 out of Rs. 100 is sales of mobiles

Laptop comprise = (100 – 40)% of the out put

⇒ 60% of the out put

Average of profit from laptop at 10% of 60

⇒ 10 × 60/100

⇒ 6

Over all profit average 8% of 100

⇒ 8 × 100/100

⇒ 8

Average profit from mobiles = 8 – 6

⇒ 2

Then the profit per rupees of mobile

⇒ 2/40

⇒ 0.05

∴ The average profit per sale rupee in mobile is Rs. 0.05.
